DEEP RELEASE
AUGUST 8, FRIDAY
-
DEEP RELEASE
A two-hour restorative myofascial immersion
w/Katie Bosch
August 8th | 5–7pmDeep Release blends the softness of restorative yoga with targeted myofascial release to help you unwind tension from the inside out. Unlike Katie's regular myo classes, this pop-up will use fully supported postures in combination with myofascial release tools to create space and stillness. We'll spend longer on each spot, allowing the breath to guide release and the body to open without force.
We’ll explore familiar areas of held tension, hips, glutes, shoulders and more—but through a slower, more intuitive lens. Think of it as a conversation between your breath, your fascia, and gravity itself.
Expect a full-body experience, with tools like foam rollers, therapy balls, and props used in creative ways to help you access the deeper layers of your system. Come ready to soften, to listen, and to leave feeling more connected and at ease.
All props provided. All levels welcome.

Katie Bosch has a background in yoga and massage therapy. Myofascial release is her favorite thing to blend into yoga classes to help people understand their tension patterns and bodies on a different level.
IYENGAR : INVERSIONS
AUGUST 16, SATURDAY
-
With Mary Page Watts
Explore the fundamentals of inversions with basic principles and preparatory asanas for an inversions practice with the use of props in this beginner to intermediate level Iyengar inversions workshop.
Inverted asanas are central in the Iyengar method and long stays in Sirsasana and Sarvangasana are an integral part of the daily routine of every serious practitioner. The two significant inversions are headstand or Shirshasana and Shoulder stand or Sarvangasana. These are considered the king and queen of all asanas. Iyengar summarized his description of the effects of Sirsasana in Light on Yoga with these inspirational words: The regular and precise practice of Sirsasana develops the body, disciplines the mind, and widens the horizons of the spirit. One becomes balanced and self-reliant in pain and pleasure, loss and gain, shame and fame and defeat and victory.
All levels welcome. Recommended to have taken Iyengar with Mary Page, but not required.
-
What kind of yoga is iyengar yoga
Iyengar, is a form of yoga that has an emphasis on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of yoga postures (asanas). The style often makes use of props, such as belts, blocks, and blankets, as aids in performing the asanas. -

IN SEASON : LATE SUMMER
SEPTEMBER 12, FRIDAY
-
5 PM - 6:15 PM
IN SEASON - LATE SUMMER YIN
As the summer days come to an end, we start to feel the lingering heat as we return to the middle (earth) between the two polarities of YANG (Spring + Summer) and YIN (Autumn + Winter). We invite stillness into this transition period, Late summer.
In Chinese medicine, the organs corresponding to this time are the Spleen and the Stomach. The main organs at the wheel of the digestion process. Questions can arise on what are we still digesting? What to store? What to release?
In the transition of summer and autumn take time to nurture yourself, slow down, massage the digestive organs, and more!
-
YIN YOGA:
Puts stress on areas of the body not stretching. targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is contrast to a Yang yoga practice such as Vinyasa yoga which targets the muscles.
Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs.
Remember Yin practice principles:
Come to your appropriate edge (no forcing, no pushing)
Soften the outer muscles of the body
Resolve to be still, without shifting position
Hold for longer
We recommend bringing socks + sweater to get cozy.

KAT MCCRORY
To share what I have learned and in the process learn myself, forming us. I artfully craft each teaching experience weaving in who I am, what I have learned, recipes for joy, and imagination. I believe that through this practice we can practically, actively, and consciously move through ourselves, with ourselves, in order to know ourselves better and what it is that we need.

ON LATE SUMMER A KATONAH TRAINING
SEPTEMBER 13, SATURDAY
-
12 PM - 5 PM
EXPECT to dive deeper into Katonah theory, 5 Element theory specifically on LATE SUMMER and what it brings us, pranayama, postures, and more.
Learning about the TCM seasons and the 5-element theory can provide us with a good framework to use as a tool for better understanding ourselves, where we are, and what we need.
In this training we will move through a small practice for the season articulating its magic through the practicality of asanas, pranayama and theory of each seasonal element.
-
TCM:
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) provides valuable insights for navigating seasonal transitions
TCM highlights the deep relationship between the human body and the natural world, particularly the rhythms of the seasons. In this system, each of the five seasons is associated with a specific organ system, as well as corresponding elements such as taste, color, and personality traits.
Much like yoga, TCM emphasizes balance, harmony, and the free flow of energy (Qi or prana) throughout the body. Integrating TCM principles into a yoga practice can help align the body with seasonal energies, support organ health, and enhance overall vitality. For example, choosing specific postures, breathwork, or meditative focus based on the current season’s element (like Wood in spring or Metal in autumn) can deepen the practice and promote seasonal wellness.
-
KAT MCCRORY
Kat has become fascinated with the seasons, especially from the lense and language of Katonah Yoga, her teachers, and TCM for the last couple of years. It has changed and impacted her mindset and practice immensely.
By exploring and teaching seasonal themes, she aims to offer others a meaningful framework for understanding the connection between the external world and their internal experience. In doing so, she hopes to help people gain insight into their inner landscape by observing the rhythms of the natural world around them.
I believe that through this practice, we can practically, actively, and consciously move through ourselves, with ourselves, in order to know ourselves better and what it is that we need.
