Intro to Bellydance

DECEMBER 19, FRIDAY

  • 7 PM - 8 PM

This fun, beginner-friendly class invites you to explore the rich and evolving art of bellydance (raqs sharqi) in a body-positive, inclusive space. This pop-up combines accessible technique with playful combos, encouraging self-expression and confidence at every level—no experience necessary.

We joyfully welcome dancers of all ages, bodies, backgrounds, and gender expressions. Come as you are, and move with us!

  • Andrea is a passionate bellydance instructor and a founding member of Laterna Dance Company. She teaches under Electric Nomad —originally established by Laterna’s lovely mentor, Twila Jane. Deeply moved by the emotion within music, Andrea draws inspiration from the Golden Era of raqs sharqi and theatrical movement, infusing her classes with expressive artistry and historical richness.

She believes that dance, art, and politics are intertwined, and is committed to creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where all can feel empowered. After taking a break to embrace the joys of new mom life, Andrea is thrilled to return and share her joy for dance.

    SOUND + YIN

    WITH MAILE + LILY

The winter solstice is the longest night of the year, our deepest reflection of winter and our opportunity to fully soften. Yin yoga invites deep inner work- physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through long held postures and intentional stillness the practice teaches us to soften, to listen, and to discover healing within. Both yin and sound practices are a cultivation of presence, acceptance, and surrender. Join Lily & Maile for this Solstice yin & sound experience! Maile will use crystal singing bowls, chimes, rain, instruments, and other vibrational instruments to help open the heart, expand awareness, and recharge the nervous system throughout our movement practice. Both Lily and Maile are Reiki Master practitioners, bringing a shared foundation in energetic healing through intention and presence.

  • Yin represents a passive, dark, cold, and still energy, while winter is considered the most "yin" season, making it a time for rest and conservation.

  • COST: Sliding Scale $15-30
