    This 60-minute movement offering is free to the community and is not meant to be put into a box. It will be teachings from Allison that are inspired by the moment and meant to support joy - even if we have to dig a bit to find it.

    May this be time and space to celebrate and cherish the gift of movement and our vessel (bodies) that carry us through the complexities of life. Let's move and find joy, together.

    Join Ari for a Breath work Alchemy Experience, where you will be given the opportunity to transform thought into sensation by shifting awareness from the mind to the body through active breath meditation. After you will be invited to slide into a state of relaxation as you receive healing sound frequencies and Reiki.

    Reiki: This Japanese healing energy technique promotes relaxation and reduces stress/anxiety though gentle touch.

SUP YOGA x WATERFRONT RVA

    Join TAOU Studio for a floating yoga experience during this Stand Up Paddleboard class in partnership with Waterfront RVA! All equipment provided and no experience necessary.

    You will learn all the paddleboard basics before we paddle out on the river together and anchor our boards. Class will be a flow of breathwork, yoga and meditation with the James River as our studio!

    We will be meeting at 415 Tredegar Street near Brown's Island.

    Whether you are a beginner paddler or float regularly, join us for this incredible way to enjoy our beautiful city! This is a “do you” experience: you are free to do as little or try out as much as you'd like on the board.

    We provide all equipment - including paddeboard, paddle, PFD and anchoring system. Our guides with Waterfront RVA are available as extra sets of eyes and hands, ensuring the safest floating experience possible.

    Please do your best to be on time. Because parking can be tricky, please arrive at least 10 min early to ensure you don’t miss us as we paddle out!

    *Because boards and spaces are limited, reschedules must be done at least 24 hrs in advance. Any cancellations within the 24 hr period will lose their class pass, no refunds will be issued. Thank you for understanding!

    Available parking: Belle Isle parking lot, Civil War Museum lot (small fee), or street parking on 5th street. There is also free parking on Oregon Hill Pkwy.

    Clothing: Wear anything you're comfortable *potentially* getting wet. :) swimsuits, athletic wear, etc are all totally fine!

EVERY NEW MOON

  • This ritual circle gathers every New Moon night at 7:15 PM -

    an intensely energetic time for inner work. Rituals will be a 75 minute Yin practice, opening your body and allowing your mind to focus on intention-setting and journaling through guided self-reflection. Monthly themes will be explored through a nature-based lens, working with the elements, seasons, and more. Tea will be available afterwards for you to gather, learn, reflect and connect with your community.

    Bring a mat, journal and pen to each session.

    Emily is a nature-based wellness practitioner and teacher, connecting people to their roots in nature. Her studies in environmental anthropology showed her the interconnectedness of all life and inspired her to help others rediscover their own connections. Through her studio, Heartwood House, Emily combines the tools of yoga with nature's elements, seasons, rhythms and cycles to teach yoga, breathwork, meditation and ritual classes, workshops and community events. Her classes are introspective and designed to connect body and mind to nature.

  • Herbal Eye-Pillow & DREAM STORIES WORKSHOP

    JULY TBD | 1-3PM

    Sew & Rest! Cultivate tranquility through sensory relationship with soothing herbs by sewing and filling personal eye-pillows to support regenerative rest. In this workshop, after sewing our eye-pillows, you will be guided into a meditation and visualization practice.

    Through the awareness practice of meditation, and the expressive act of writing, we will dive deeply into the imagination to reveal our individual narratives, limiting beliefs, and the central metaphors of our subconscious mind. Inspired by the narrative power of Irish storytelling, and the dream analysis techniques of Carl Jung, this class will provide you with tools to investigate, and translate, the layered landscape of the Self.

    Class will open with sewing and filling our eye-pillows alongside an optional (decaffeinated) tea ceremony, followed by a guided meditation, and will close with a reflective writing period for all participants. There will be an opportunity to share your experience, investigate the present metaphors, and deepen your understanding of their influence.

    No prior experience with dreamwork or sewing is necessary. Comfortable clothing is recommended. All eye mask materials provided.

    75 MIN workshop style class: A wall sequence to support you

    Set up around using the wall (support), ropes, good foundation with blocks and more! ONLY 10 spots available!

    We live in a world were we can be too flexible, over committing, over extending, and on the go forward, which over time can be taxing on our minds and bodies. Wall support is a 75 Minute workshop style class where we will learn to lean back and feel supported, to set up better measurements + boundaries, and more. From creating a good stable foundation we can then explore our ability and freedom in the postures.

    A recipe using alightment, measures, and proof to find stability and structure, and in time ability + freedom. Be skillful, sneaky, slow moving, and sophisticated in the practice.

    Mats will be provided. wear clothes that are easy to move in.

  • Yoga Nidra, or “yogic sleep,” is a resting meditation technique that promotes profound relaxation alongside full body & total self awareness. In this pop-up, Andre will guide you through a reclined full body scan before lulling you into the dreamy state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. This gentle practice works to calm the sympathetic nervous system allowing you to detach from thought and connect with your subconscious self.

    Once settled, Matt will create a sound bath using singing bowls, field recordings, and manipulated drones. Within this deep and hypnotic atmosphere, full of tonal interactions, a space for healing and meditation opens up. Enveloped by sound, our internal connections are guided toward realignment as we practice listening to an ever present and immersive sound field.

    Your experience can be as reflective or as restful as you’d like to make it — set your intention and choose your own adventure. Lay down, get supported & cozy, and allow voice and sound to ease you into complete relaxation.
