IN SEASON : WINTER
JANUARY 30, FRIDAY
-
5 PM - 6:15 PM
IN SEASON - WINTER YIN
A 75 min deeper dive into YIN during the middle of Winter, to flush any excess water out! Winter has been the time of slowing down, going in and reflecting. We will focus on what we see, slowing down, going inward into our body + home so we have more ability to go out come spring!
-
YIN YOGA:
Puts stress on areas of the body not stretching. targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is contrast to a Yang yoga practice such as Vinyasa yoga which targets the muscles.
Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs.
Remember Yin practice principles:
Come to your appropriate edge (no forcing, no pushing)
Soften the outer muscles of the body
Resolve to be still, without shifting position
Hold for longer
We recommend bringing socks + sweater to get cozy.

To share what I have learned and in the process learn myself, forming us. I artfully craft each teaching experience weaving in who I am, what I have learned, recipes for joy, and imagination. I believe that through this practice we can practically, actively, and consciously move through ourselves, with ourselves, in order to know ourselves better and what it is that we need.

ON WINTER : TRAINING
JANUARY 31, SATURDAY
-
12 - 5 PM
Expect to dive deeper into:
- Katonah theory through the lens of TCM and Daoism
- good conversation, questions and journaling
- 5 Element theory specifically on WINTER and what it's brings us, pranayama, elements, postures and more.
Learning about the TCM seasons and 5 elemental theory can provide us with a good framework that we can use as a tool to better understand ourselves, where we are and what we need.
In this training we will move through a small practice for the season articulating its magic through the practicality of asanas, pranayama and theory of each seasonal element.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) emphasizes the connection between the human body and the natural world, including the changing seasons. Each season (5) in TCM has an attendant organ system, a taste, a color, a personality type and more.

Yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a guided meditation practice that aims to induce a state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep. It's a form of deep relaxation that combines guided imagery with the yoga posture Shavasana (corpse pose). The goal is to achieve a state of restful awareness, often described as a bridge between waking and sleeping, where the body experiences deep relaxation while the mind remains conscious.
